Samuel Ohanian

Samuel Ohanian of East Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 14, 2012.  He was the beloved husband and soul mate of Frances “Dolly” (Cicerelli) Ohanian for 63 years.

  Born in Providence  on December 30, 1929, Sam was the son of the late Sukias and Sema (Demujian) Ohanian.  He was the devoted and loving father of Cathleen A. Paniccia and her husband Joseph and James R. Ohanian and his wife Kimberly all of Cranston.  Sam was the devoted and cherished grandfather of Lindsey Cathleen Beaulieu and her husband Wesley and Hannah Rose Ohanian.
  Sam worked in the automotive and insurance industry his entire career.  He was the proud patriarch of his family business, the Auto Factory, where he worked along side of his son, James, for the past 40 years.  Sam was also a licensed insurance adjuster with more than 50 years of experience.  Sam’s passion was spending time with his family.  He was known for his generous spirit, welcoming smile and willingness to help anyone who needed a hand.  He was easy to befriend and was a person to whom you could always go for advice. He will be sadly missed by the many whose lives he touched.
  Sam is survived by his sister Florence Cicerelli and his brother Arthur Ohanian.  He was the brother of the late Walter, Barsam and Elizabeth Ohanian.
  His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Crossroads RI  would be appreciated.
