Mildred Ernestine King Miller, 84, of Leonard Avenue, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Waterview Villa Rehabilitation Center in East Providence, Rhode Island. She was a beloved wife to the late James L. Miller staying by his side until his death in 1974, and also to the late Agustin “Panama” Perez Sanchez, who preceded her in death in 1986. Her twin Hildred Austine King Noble preceded her in death in 1984.
Born in Danville, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ollie Johnson King. Millie, as she was affectionately called by almost everyone, was a telephone operator supervisor with NYNEX for twenty years before retiring.
Millie leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Lawrence “Eddie” Price (Dr. Marva Laverne) of Fearrington Village, North Carolina, Ernest Price of East Providence, and Michael Price (Isaura) of West Warwick; four grandchildren, Dr. LeShawndra Price of Gaithersburg, MD, Lebbonee Price Kittredge (Tad) of San Francisco, CA, Michael Price, Jr. and Cameron Price of West Warwick; one great grandson, Jonah Price Kittredge of San Francisco; niece Kerry Bryant of Virginia, nephew Michael Bryant of Boston, Step-daughter Beverly Miller and her daughter Nicole of Providence, and Bonita Sanchez; and a host of cousins and friends.
Her funeral and visitation will be held in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston St., Providence, on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 with a service to follow at 10:00. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Hope Alzheimer’s Center, 25 Brayton Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920.
