Mary E. “Miriam” Moran

Mary E. “Miriam” Moran, 95, of Jay Street, Rumford passed away on Saturday January 23, 2016.

  She was the loving wife of Thomas W. Moran to whom she was married for 70 years. Born in East Providence she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary C. (Unsworth) Golden.

  Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mary Lou Beckler (Stephen) of Seekonk and Gail Breaugh (James) of St. Louis, one son, Todd Moran (Marylou) of Seekonk, one brother, Charles E. Golden of Riverside, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kathleen Moran and sister of the late Barbara Larned and Thomas Golden.

  After graduating in 1942 from RI College, she enjoyed a rewarding career teaching Elementary School in East Providence for 20 years. Among Miriam and Tom’s greatest joys was entertaining family and friends in both their summer home in Point Judith  and winters in Florida. She was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Saint Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours respectfully omitted. The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff of Linn Health Care Center for their special care and compassion.

One of the most amazing teachers I've ever had. She graduated the year after I had her... and I was still devastated!
