Joseph E. Medeiros 91, of Irving Avenue and formerly of Howland Avenue passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Sylvia L. (Pimentel) Medeiros. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph G. and Mary F. (Ferreira) Medeiros. Mr. Medeiros worked for the Atlantic Richfield-Arco Company for many years before he retired. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1942-1945. He leaves one son, Michael J. Medeiros of Chicago and one brother, Edward B. Medeiros and his wife Frances of Pawtucket. He was the father of the late Joseph E. Medeiros, Jr. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-8.
