Eugene T. Voll

Eugene T. Voll of East Providence, RI and Jupiter, FL passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 1, 2015.  Born in Syracuse, NY on May 14, 1933, he was the son of Genevieve and Walter Voll.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years Christine Barry and four children: Nondas and her companion David Ellsworth, Catherine, Christopher and his wife Jennifer, Ellen Atkins and her husband Olen, his grandchildren Grace and John Voll and Finnian and Adeline Atkins, his brothers Rev. Urban Voll, OP, Kevin Voll and his wife Mary Jane, and his sister Genevieve Rafferty, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.After his 1955 graduation from Providence College, he joined the American Tag Company in New York City.  He returned to Rhode Island to run The Letter Shop which he bought, renamed Mercury Mail, and operated until 1981. He was active in the Mail Advertising Service Association, serving as president from 1970-1972. He also co-founded Academic Management Services and was a past recipient of the Providence College National Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Service. Gene was General Manager of Gripnail Corp from 1981- 1996. At the time of his death he was President of Westport Properties, East Providence. An avid golfer, he was a member of Wannamoisett Country Club for 45 years and Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club in Jupiter, FL for 11 years. His funeral will be held Friday at 9AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home at 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave, East Providence. Visiting hours are from 4-8PM on Thursday.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eugene Voll Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o San Miguel School, 525 Branch Avenue, Providence RI 02904.
