Elizabeth A. Sorrentino

ELIZABETH A. SORRENTINO, 60, of Riverside, RI passed away suddenly on January 5, 2016. Elizabeth was the only child of Edward F. Davey and Jane Allen Davey (Hadley). Elizabeth is survived by her stepfather, William Hadley, 87, of Yuma, AZ.  She was the devoted wife of 41 years of Rodney L. Sorrentino. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Rodney L. Sorrentino, Jr of Warwick, RI; Amy E. Murphy of Warwick, RI; and Matthew E. Sorrentino of Chepachet, RI. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Ethan, Hannah, Abigail, and Bryce Sorrentino, Jane, Katherine, Jeremiah and Samuel Murphy, as well as Grace and Norah Sorrentino. Elizabeth graduated from Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren, RI where she met her lifelong friend of 45 years, Linda Nolan. While Elizabeth is an only child, she is survived by many close family members, such as her cousins, nieces and nephews. Elizabeth had a lifelong devotion to Our Blessed Mother, Mary, which began when she visited Lourdes as a teenager and continued in her later years having completed two pilgrimages to Medjugorje. She loved to travel and went on cruises with her husband to Alaska, France, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Scotland, England, and the Bahamas. Elizabeth was an amazing mother and grandmother who was always seen with one of her grandchildren at a school or sporting event.  She lived for her family. Having recently undergone a battle against cancer, Elizabeth’s strength and courage was admirable to all around her. She was also a dedicated member of the Our Lady of Peace prayer group. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Brendan’s Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4-8.
