Donald C. Anderson

Donald Clarence Anderson, “Grampy” 66, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Helen Cabral Anderson for 43 years. Son of the late Clarence J. and Rita (Holloway) Anderson, he was one of their six children, John E. (Jack) and Judith Anderson, Alma R. and the late John Inglis II, Jean M. and Alphonse Lepore, Arthur D. and Colleen Anderson, and Mary Christine and Paul Lazar. Donald was the proud father of Sonja M. and Andrew O’Brien of Sutton, Quebec and Nantucket, Massachusetts and Andrew D.C. and Diana Anderson of Barrington; and the proud grandfather of William and Ryan Anderson, and Jamey Rose O’Brien. He was currently employed as a Sales Representative for over 38 years at the Imperial Packaging Company in Woonsocket and provided dedicated service to his clientele throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. An avid motorcycle and automobile enthusiast, he accomplished numerous achievements as a motorcycle racer in New England and meticulously restored classic cars. Not only could he formulate and activate precise engine repair by listening to the motor direction, his inventive talents were known and recognized by fellow riders.

Being a finished and creative craftsman, his artistic ability was profound in the renovation of his historical home. During the summer months he loved boating on Narragansett Bay. A devout communicant with his wife Helen at the Carmelite Monastery, he was a compassionate man whose greatest enjoyment was to be surrounded by his loving family and share their traditions.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Carmelite Monastery, 25 Watson Avenue, Barrington. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington. Calling hours Friday 4-7. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Carmelite Monastery would be greatly appreciated.
