David W. Adams, 65, of Riverside passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary F. (Peixoto) Adams and the late Lisa A. (Smus) Adams. Raised in Barrington, David was the son of the late Benjamin and Lillian Adams. Besides his wife Mary, he leaves two sons, Samuel Adams and his husband Armando of Hawaii, and Alexander Adams and his wife Elissa Toro of Riverside, a daughter, Lauren Goulart of Riverside, a sister, Susan Douglass, and three brothers, Michael, William, and Stephen Adams. David had an appreciation for the small joys life brought, such as gardening, cooking, treasure hunting on the beach, and the simplicity of nature, all with his beloved wife Mary by his side. David was an avid reader, and enjoyed the Providence Journal, especially the crossword puzzles and Sudoku. He also loved watching Jeopardy. He was an artist in his own right, and he enjoyed making sculptures out of material he found in nature, often on Sandy Point beach. David was always a gentle, selfless and compassionate man. He battled against Myelodysplasia with dignity and bravery. He loved his family and brought joy to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. David is gone, but will never be forgotten. David’s calling hours will be held on Friday March 29, 2019 from 4-8 in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
