Daniel J. Price, Jr. “Junie”

Daniel Julius Price, Jr. (Junie)

Passed on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital.  Dan was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 28, 1950.  The son of the late Daniel Julius Price, Sr and Augusta Maria Lopes.

Dan was a graduate of Hope High School and the University of Rhode Island.  He was a member of the first graduating class from URI under the tutelage of the Talent Development Program and went on to complete a master’s degree in banking.  He enjoyed many successful years in banking in California and Rhode Island. His recent employment was with the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation where he was a Portfolio Manager in charge of small business loans.  He was a proud member of the Fox Point Boys Club Hall of Fame, excelling in swimming and basketball. During his years at Bank of America, he was a volunteer with the RI Special Olympics, bonding so easily with the athletes.  He was also an avid volunteer at local elementary schools, entertaining children with his interpretations of beloved story favorites.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sister Arline Adele Thrasher.  He is survived by three children, Daniel (Danny) Julius Price, III; Dawn Marie Price and Danielle Antionette Price; and daughter-in-law Venishia Price; his sisters Carolyn Haynes and Maria Price, and his brothers, Allen Price, Wayne Lomba, and David Price; His grandchildren Devin, Toya, Max, Quentin and Miles and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Final arrangements are being handled by the Perry-McStay Funeral Home.  Because of the seriousness of the current pandemic and the family’s wishes that we try to keep everyone safe, there will not be the traditional celebrations of life for Dan.  We ask that you remember him as he was in life in your own special way.
