Daniel F. Amaral

Daniel F. Amaral, 88 of East Providence, RI, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 19, 2021. He was the husband of the late Maria Theresa (Eugenio) Amaral.
Born in Lomba do Cavaleiro, Povoacao,Sao Miguel, Azores he was a son of the late Joao F. and Adelina Conceicao (Costa) Amaral. Mr. Amaral was a supervisor for American Insulated Wire Company for over 40 years before he retired. He also served in the Portuguese Army before coming to this country. Mr. Amaral was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and a member of several social organizations including: The Brightridge Club in East Providence, The Portuguese Social Club in Pawtucket and Amigos da Terceira. He enjoyed music, poetry, writing songs, and working in his yard. He was the founder of Estrela do Mar Folklore group and was involved in many other Portuguese musical groups. He will also be remembered as a poet and was the author of Perolas Poeticas Acorianas.
He leaves four sons, Daniel E. Amaral (Filomena) of Rumford, Robert E. Amaral (Mary Jo Nelson) of Rumford, Victor E. Amaral (Stephanie) of Warwick and Edward E. Amaral (Susan Traverse) of East Providence, one sister, Maria Jose Medeiros, one brother, Gustavo Amaral, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was the brother of the late Joaquim Amaral, Manuel Amaral, Laudalina Alves, Maria Travao, Lidia Amaral, Joao Amaral and Carlos Amaral.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8.

Danny, we are so sorry for your loss. We will always remember your dad and his poems and his sense of humor. So sorry we could not give our condolences in person, but we were away. (Meghan's parents)
