Maria M. DeCastro

Maria M. DeCastro, 81, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Antonio J. DeCastro. Born in Praia, Vitoria, Terceira, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Amelia (Borges de Aguiar) Silveira. Mrs. DeCastro worked in the jewelry industry as a machine operator for Hedison Manufacturing before retiring. She leaves one daughter, Rosa DeCastro Russell and her husband Stephen of East Providence, two sons, Fernando DeCastro and Mario DeCastro and his lifelong partner Sarah all of East Providence, nine grandchildren, Monica, Christopher, Zachary, Stephen, Chelsey, Sarah, Alex, Nicole and Courtney, two sisters, Georgina Lopes and Maria Oliveira and family and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Fernando and Juliana Silveira. She will be missed by all of her close friends at the Fox Point Manor. Funeral services will be private.
