Henry “Ricky” Correia, 90, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Silva) Correia whom he married on January 10, 1969.
Born and raised in Fox Point, Providence, he was a son of the late Anina and Anna (Pina) Correia.
Mr. Correia worked in the Sanitation Department for the City of Providence before retiring and also worked for Johnson & Whales University for over 30 years. He was part owner of a popular café called the NBC Lounge. Mr. Correia was a Baptized Jehovah’s Witness. He was a hard worker, loyal, dedicated husband and a loving father and grandfather.
Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Elaine McCutcheon, Shirley Ferreira and her husband Alex and Ana Weeden and her husband Christopher all of East Providence, twelve grandchildren, Robert W. Baptista, III, Shawn R. Baptista, Randyn J. McCutcheon, Javan, Donisha, Darren and Alan Gomes, Christiana and Chante Weeden, Thiago and Amorita Ellis and Dimetri Perry, his nephew, Corey Santos, who was like a son to him, and a host of nieces and nephews. twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Marjorie Gomes. Mr. Correia was one of nine children.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Rumford Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8.
