William H. O’Neil, Jr., 90, passed away on December 2, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. O’Neil was the husband of Helen J. (Cotter) O’Neil, to whom he was married for 62 years. Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late William H. and Anne (Naylor) O’Neil. A 1942 graduate of Attleboro High School, he served his country in the Navy during World War II. He earned his Baccalaureate at Providence College, class of 1950, and his Master’s Degree in Education at Rhode Island College with advanced studies at Northeastern University. Besides his wife, Helen, he is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Sirois of Seekonk, Annmarie Burns of Attleboro and Barbara Flanagan of Hope Valley, five sons, Michael O’Neil of New Hampshire, Stephen O’Neil of Portsmouth, Thomas O’Neil of Connecticut, William O’Neil of North Attleboro, Paul O’Neil of Duxbury, MA and twenty three grandchildren. He was the father of the late David C. O’Neil. He was brother of the late Elizabeth Cady, Edward O’Neil and Helen Fitton.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-6.
