BUTLER, WILLIAM H., 64, of Riverside died Monday, Jan. 12, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of Janet (Logan) Butler who is, indeed, a very lucky woman to have shared the last 43 years as his wife and partner in life. He was the owner/operator of Butler Automotive in East Providence for many years and was known for his kind spirit and willingness to help those in need. Bill loved to laugh and cherished every moment he shared with those who did as well. He was known for his love of food, sports, restoring old cars with good friends and dancing. He also enjoyed classical music. He had been a communicant at St. Brendan’s Church in Riverside where he had also been a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by the two sons he adored, Logan P. and Liam C. Butler, both of East Providence. He also leaves five brothers Clarence M. “Junior” Butler (Georgette), James Butler, Leonard (Shirley) Butler and Domenic (Nanci) Butler, all of East Providence, and Bernard Butler and his partner Al Dussault of Charlestown; three sisters Miriam Butler of Burrillville, Lillian (James) Jackson of East Providence and Faith (Gary) Audette of Pawtucket; a step-sister Beverly (Jake Boots) Pierro of East Providence; in-laws Suzanne (Clarence) Farr of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Jerry (Lisa) Logan of Barrington, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Rd., Barrington, followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Perry/McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. In lieu of flowers, a random act of kindness for a someone in need or a donation to wesharehope.org or redcross.org would be appreciated.
