Virginia E. Hawksley, 83, of Arcade Avenue passed away on Sunday August 23, 2015 at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Hawksley.
Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Paiva) Piquette. Mrs. Hawksley was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and was also the Director of Nursing. Previously she was the Director of Ambulatory Surgery at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was a 1952 graduate of Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1976 and her Masters Degree in Health Administration in 1983. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
She leaves two daughters, Carlene A. Hawksley and her partner Nicola Hughes, Ann M. Pariseau and her husband Michael, two grandchildren who were the loves of her life, Joey Pariseau and Tyler Pariseau, one sister, Mary L. Amaral and one brother, George M. Piquette. She was the sister of the late Manuel and Anthony Piquette.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 8-9 AM.
