Valentina C. Sousa

Valentina C. Sousa, 92, of East Providence passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Waterview Villa. She was the wife of the late Francisco S. Sousa.

Born in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Almerinda (Borges) Soares.  Mrs. Sousa worked for the Hope Webbing of Pawtucket before she retired.  She loved to travel to the Azores every couple of years and spend few months at a time.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, who adored her family.

She leaves two daughters, Gilda Avila of East Providence, Almerinda Sousa of Ponta Delgada, Azores,  two grandchildren, Patricia Conceição and her husband Kevin of East Providence, Christopher Avila of New York, three great-grandchildren, Tatyana, Jonathan and Gabryella.  She was the sister of the late Manuel Soares.

Her funeral and visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 9-10 AM with a service at 10 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.  Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Sousa's passing. She was a delightul person who loved sharing with me her trips to the Azores. My deepest condolences to her family and may she rest in peace in God's eternal glory.
