On Saturday, January 27, Timothy “Tanner” Raymond Allison, son, brother, uncle, godfather, friend, passed away comfortably at the age of 33 due to complications following his second lung transplant.
From the very beginning, Tim pursued his myriad interests with inspiring focus and dedication. Tim was, among many things, an obsessive lover of comics and all things Star Wars, a self-taught breakdancer, an armored car security guard, an airbrush tattoo artist in P-Town, a gamer, weapon aficionado, LEGO fanatic, and collector. He was an expert at whatever he set his mind to. Perhaps the position that Tim was most proud of, though, was uncle to his niece and nephew, Tommy and Molly, whom he loved unconditionally. He worked most recently as a Behavioral Specialist at Stevens Home in Swansea, MA, helping troubled children aged 12-18 change their behaviors to reintegrate into society after their stay at the treatment center.
After fighting through years of illness, during which he survived leukemia, a bone marrow transplant, two lung transplants, and various other complications that would do most people in, Tim fought to the very last breath, fought for friends and family, fought so he could spend just a little more time with his niece and nephew, pass along to them just a little bit more wisdom and love of comics and toys, fought to prove his mother wrong yet again when we thought we were going to lose him (which a nurse practitioner at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania astutely said was his favorite thing to do), fought for the love of life and so he could keep doing whatever it was that piqued his interest next.
Tim is survived by his mother and father, Kathleen (Magill) Allison and Thomas Mitchell Allison of Seekonk, MA, his brothers Scott of Brooklyn, NY and Tom of South Orange, NJ, his sister in-law Lindsay, his Godson Tommy and niece Molly, and his Nana, Maureen Magill of Pawtucket, RI. Tim is the grandson of the late Raymond Magill and the late Thomas and Mary Allison.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Tim’s name at https://donate.lls.org/lls/donate.
