Thomas P. Grimshaw, 51, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James E. and Helen T. (Martin) Grimshaw. Tommy was a mechanic for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority for twelve years. He also was an Army veteran and served in Somalia. While in the Service he was award The Good Conduct Medal, The Army Achievement Medal and The Army Commendation Medal.
He leaves eight brothers and sisters, Kathleen A. Bouchard of Yulee, Florida, Mary E. Grossi of Mattapoisett, Ma., Helen P. Andrade of Warwick, Barbara J. Paquin of Warwick, James E. Grimshaw, Jr. of East Providence, John J. Grimshaw of Cranston, Paul F. Grimshaw of Cranston and Joseph D. Grimshaw of Warwick, nineteen nieces and nephews and twenty two great nieces and nephews.
His funeral and visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 8:30 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. In lieu of flowers contributions to the R.I.S.P.C.A. 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915 would be appreciated.
