Sylvia E. Wilson, 86, of Hope Street passed away at her home on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was the wife of the late Marion O. Wilson. Born in Richmond, Virginia she was a daughter of the late William S. Eldridge and Frances (Brown) Evans. Sylvia was the Director of Physical Therapy at St. Joseph’s Hospital before retiring. She was a member of Sheldon Street Church and also served as a Deacon. She leaves three children, Hugh E. Griffin of Richmond, Douglas E. Hewlett of Florida and Glenn A. Wilson of Providence, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Henry L. Griffin, Jr. and was predeceased by two brothers and one grandchild. Her funeral service and visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Sheldon Street Church, 51 Sheldon Street, Providence with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
