Susan Ellen Fedele, R.N. died peacefully Thursday, September 4th, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following an accident at home and from complications with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 54.

Married for 27 years, Susan was the wife of Dr. Frank Fedele. The two met working at Rhode Island Hospital and later lived in Barrington and Philadelphia before ultimately making New Hampshire their home.

She was the proud mother of Alexandra, Michael and Juliana Fedele. Her children were the center of her universe and she was determined to give them every opportunity in this life. She loved them immensely.

Born in Providence and a graduate of Salve Regina University (’86); Rhode Island has always held a special place in Susan’s heart.

The first-born child of Ann (McCloskey) and the late William Foeri, Susan was the remarkable and fearless sister of Linda Kelley of Riverside, William Foeri Jr. of Providence, Stephen Foeri of Rehoboth and Robert Foeri of Narragansett. The eldest of five, Susan never lived a dull moment.

A seasoned traveler, she mostly enjoyed vacationing in Europe, Newport and the Caribbean. Susan was always active and found joy in swimming, tennis and skiing. In high school – and in life – she was known as a fierce competitor, especially in field hockey.

Susan was a nurse for the North Hampton School District, participated in various fundraisers, organized for the local PTA, and was an advocate for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Susan was tenacious in life and in her battle with MS.

She constantly challenged herself and others. Her advice to everyone was: “Do what you can every day and throw the rest away.”

Susan’s funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to theNationalMSSociety.org
