Samuel Faria, Jr. entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Helen A. (Leandro) Faria to whom he was married 58 years.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Samuel, Sr. and Virginia (Leitao) Faria. Mr. Faria was a salesman for the Kinney Shoe Corporation for many years and the Riverside Shoe Company. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and devoted his time to the church throughout his life. He was grounded and devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan. He was the devoted father of Virginia Simcock and her husband Ron and his son Sam and his wife Susan. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Stacie, Troy, Kyle and Ali. He also leaves his sister Evelyn Trenteseaux and many Godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Tavares and Virginia and Raymond Faria. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street.
