Rose M. (Iadevaia) Amaral

Rose M. (Iadevaia) Amaral completed her last mile in her 98th year on the beautiful, sun-filled, peaceful morning of April 29th with her children by her side.  Her final path was indicative of the way she lived her entire life, filled with love, prayer, humility, courage and dignity. Rose was born in Manville, RI, on Mother’s Day, May 8, 1918 to the late Michael and Annamaria (D’Alessio) Iadevaia. She was the cherished wife of the late Horace J. (Harry) Amaral.  She will be forever missed by her precious grandchildren: Nina Amaral, Megan Fusco, Jayson Pereira, Rebecca Graham, Nicholas Amaral, and Leah Stoddard. She was also blessed to have lived to enjoy her “seven greats”, all girls: Ruby, Maggie, Sydney, Livia, Eva, Isla, and Josephine whose tiny hearts are broken. She leaves her sister Rachel Bessette. Rose predeceased five siblings: Josephine, Luigi, Benjamin, Lawrence, and Michael Iadevaia. She was the loving sister-in-law of George Amaral and Anna Amaral. She also assisted at the St. Francis Rectory and the St. Francis School Lunch Program.  Before retirement, she worked at Standard Hardware in East Prov.. She loved gardening and would transplant beautiful perennials from her garden to those of her children in hope she would be forever remembered in the beauty of the blooms. From her rocking chair, at the window of her simple home, she prayed daily for the many she loved, both here and gone. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 N Carpenter St., East Providence RI.
