Ronald A. DeSilva, 63, of Alameda Drive, died Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Gedrose) DeSilva who was the love of his life and to whom he was married for 39 beautiful years. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Anthony and Lillian M. (Mello) DeSilva. Ronald was an Air force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an award winning salesman throughout his career most currently with Viti Volvo in Tiverton, RI. He was an avid sports fan and a lifelong Yankee fan. Ronald had a passion for classic cars and was a proud owner of a 1969 Ford XL, convertible. He loved to travel especially to Portugal and Florida and also loved to attend the Portuguese feasts. Family was the most important part of his life including spending time with them by the ocean. Besides his wife he was a devoted father to two daughters, Tassie Spragg and her husband Michael of Great Falls, Montana and Brenda Provencal and her husband David of Seekonk, one son, Spencer DeSilva and his wife Sara of Norton, Massachusetts, seven grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Michaela, Brooke, Katelyn, Hannah and Carter, two sisters, Celine Hall and Alicia DeSilva and one brother, Jeffrey DeSilva. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk.
