Roberta E. Whittemore, 69, of Paddock Drive, Warwick passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of Robert W. “Whit” Whittemore.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William and Eileen (Mulvey) Thompson. Roberta was a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Rhode Island. She graduated from Salve Regina and subsequently earned Masters Degree from Rhode Island College. She was an active participant and motivational speaker for the LIVESTRONG Program in Rhode Island. She was a champion for the “underdog” and cared deeply for animals.
Her family was most important to her, and she always enjoyed spending time with them. Besides her husband she leaves one son, Nathanael J. Greene of Boston, one daughter Veronica R. Seippel of Warwick and one grandson, Noah Greene. She was the mother of the late Rebecca E. Greene.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be private. Calling hours Thursday 5-8. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society or the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
