Robert M. Gomes

Robert M. Gomes, 82, of East Providence, passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Mary Ann (Souza) Gomes to whom he was married 60 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel & Inorinda (Medeiros) Gomes.  Robert was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Local 257 until he retired.  He had a passion for breeding and raising show pigeons.  He enjoyed painting, drawing, and collecting unique items.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves four children, Robert J. Gomes and his wife Linda of East Providence, David Allan Gomes and his wife Lisa Francis of East Providence, Dawn M. Jackson of East Providence, Kimberly A. Gomes and her husband Salvadore Amorim of Providence, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Carol Paiva.  He was the brother of the late Richard Gomes.

A Mass of Christian Burial Will be celebrated on Saturday, April 10, 2021, 12 P.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence.  Burial will be private.

Bob "dad" was a great man. He was hysterical (🖕) I had to. He was also very caring. I was always welcome in his home and I felt like family. I know how much his wife and children loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with them all at this time. I love you all.
