Major Richard K. Picard, (Ret. U.S. Air Force) 88 of Reservoir Street died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Genevieve T. (Kane) Picard.Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Delia (Gladue) Picard. Mr. Picard was an Air Force veteran of WW II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also served as a Pilot and Staff Officer for the Air Force and was a Patrol Officer for U.S. Customs & Drug Enforcement. He ended his 27 year Military Career in June of 1970. He leaves one daughter, Penny Joubert , one son, Michael A. Picard both of North Attleboro, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Richard K. Picard, Jr. and brother of the late Evelyn Foisy, Delia Bettencourt, Joseph, Edward, Charles and Clarence Picard.His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
