He was born in Eastman, Quebec, Canada a son of the late Napoleon and Caroline (Bombardier) Bissonnette. Mr. Bissonnette worked for the Crafford Tool & Die Company for thirteen years before retiring in 1984 and previously worked for American Textile Company. He was a member of the East Providence Senior Center and volunteered at the V.A. Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He leaves two sons, Alfred Bissonnette of East Providence and Edward Bissonnette of Terryville, one sister, Margaret Plante of Warwick, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Ann and Roger Bissonnette and brother of the late Laurence Maloney, Lillian LaFerriere, Armand, Paul and Philip Bissonnette.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8.
