Mee Har Luke, 77, of Seabrook Drive, East Providence passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of John P. Luke. Born in Shanghi, China she was a daughter of the late Cheong Kwong and Wai Jean (Chin) Kwong. Mrs. Luke was the co-owner of the former China Palace Restaurant. She was a Social Worker in the Refugee Resettlement Program at the International Institute of Rhode Island. She was a member of the Beneficent Congregational Church. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Christine G. Luke and her husband Jack Barry of Pawtucket, Lorna G. Luke of East Providence and Karen G. Luke and her husband Rob Gray of Pacifica, California, two sons, Kenneth G. Luke (Sgt. E.P.P.D.) and his wife Paula of East Providence and Samuel F. Luke (Sgt. E.P.P.D.) and his wife Cheryl of Cranston, one brother, Peter W. Kwong and his wife Mena of East Providence, three brother in laws, Arthur, Daniel and Samuel L. Luke and five grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
