Komiega, Maureen F. (Maureen Losier) age 59, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 4, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Maureen “Moe”, was born on April 16, 1956 in Bridgeport, CT. She was a devoted and nurturing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend who always put others before herself. She had the most generous, caring heart, touching all those that came into her life. She was a coach, mentor & organizer for Special Olympics & taught catechism to children with special needs. She was the superior hostess for holiday gatherings, the gift giver of just because, the ruler of the open door policy, the master of “Dave can do it”, & the proud creator of her grandchildren’s laughter. She spent many hours on the white sands of Mayflower Beach soaking up the earth’s pleasures. She left blankets of warmth wherever her life took her. The echoes of her life continue to create waves of love and kindness. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, David Komiega; her mother, Rose Losier and partner Richard Bozzuto; three sons, David Komiega II and his wife Sarah, Kyle Komiega & Justin Komiega; two sisters, Jeannine Losier, Kathy Losier & her husband Gary Cabral. One brother, Raymond Losier & his wife Beth; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Summer & Samuel Komiega & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her Father Raymond Losier, and her nephew Dylan Pero. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M in Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Special Olympics of RI (East Providence) , 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, Rhode Island, 02917.
