Mary E. Sullivan

Mary E. Sullivan, 90, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center.  She was born in Lynn, MA a daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (McGuigan) Sullivan and grew up in Fall River, she lived her last 25 years in East Providence.

She taught in the Fall River School System before moving onto her career as a Business Director for Katherine Gibbs, developing the New York, Providence and Boston schools.  She was also a founding member of the Big Sisters of Rhode Island.  Mary was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church where she also taught CCD and was a lector.

She leaves a brother, Joseph Sullivan and his wife Pat of Chicago, a sister-in-law, Helen Sullivan from Somerset and several nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Margaret Lewis, Francis Sullivan, John Sullivan and Daniel Sullivan.

Her funeral and visitation will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
