Marion B. Lapre

Marion B. Lapre, 97, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020.

She was the devoted wife of the late Charles E. Lapre to whom she was married for 74 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Bertha (Fanning) Kelly.

Mrs. Lapre was an example of faith, love of family, dignity and strength for her daughters and all who were blessed enough to know her. Mom’s greatest strength was her love and trust in the Lord Jesus. As a faithful Catholic all her life, her faith was the center of her life and shaped who she was for all of us. She took great pride in her Irish heritage and was a patriotic American as the wife of a WWII Veteran.

She leaves six daughters, Marianne Tomasetti and her husband Richard of Johnston, Pauline Lapre of Lincoln, Donna Waldron of East Providence, Charlene Farley and her husband Brian of Smithfield, Regina Williams and her husband Bruce of Needham, MA and Justine Remsbecker and her husband Dr. Stephen Remsbecker of Rehoboth, one sister, Evelyn Levesque and her husband Roger of Greenville, RI, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother in-law of the late Charles Waldron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours respectfully omitted. Donations in Mrs. Lapre’s memory can be made to Our Lady of Loreto Church.
