Manuel R. DePaiva, 79, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Dolores (Vargas) DePaiva. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Raposo) DePaiva. Mr. DePaiva was a construction worker for Costa Development before he retired. The family would like to thank Community VNA Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided to Manny and especially Pat Brouillette, Judy Hodge and Kathryn Henderson. Besides his wife he leaves one son, Mark A. DePaiva of Seekonk, three daughters, Amy E. DePaiva of Rehoboth, Kerry A. McMullin of Sandwich and Mandy B. Laporte of Pawtucket, ten siblings, Noemia Paiva, Fernanda Fernandes, Daniel Paiva, Maria Freitas, Antonio Paiva, Zulmira Coelho, Silvino DePaiva, Helena Frangainho, Rose DeOliveira and Luisa Medeiros and eight grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Albano Paiva. His funeral and visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 8:30 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Rehoboth Village Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
