Manuel Joaquim Bairos, 84 of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Fallon) Bairos. Manny was born in Fox Point, a son of the late Manuel J. and Maria (Lima) Bairos.
Manny worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Providence for thirty -two years, retiring as a Postal Supervisor in 1986. He was a member of the Barker Players, the DAV, the Portugese-American Social Club on Sheldon Street and was inducted into the Fox Point Boys & Girls Club Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
Manny leaves his wife of thirty-nine years, his sister Anna Mendes and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mariano J. Bairos, Mary Brasil and Joseph J. Bairos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Sreet, Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Manny’s memory may be made to NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, P.O. Box 213, West Boylston, Massachusetts 01583.
