Madolyn Essary

Madolyn Essary, 28, of New York City, passed away on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 in Rhode Island with her parents.  Madolyn was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1992, the daughter of Jay and Dorothy Essary.  She is survived by her brother, Harrison Essary.  She graduated from North Carolina State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Technology.

Our family is broken-hearted over this news we just received. Madolyn’s kind and loving heart will never be forgotten. We have so many wonderful memories of our years at SCS. Her winning & positive spirit, her humor & smile, her determination & strength to succeed are only a few of the many things we will remember when we think of Madolyn. We felt her love for our family, and we truly loved her. When we meet again in heaven, we look forward to seeing the quiet twinkle in your eye as you twirl that tennis racquet! Jay, Dorothy & Harrison- you are in our prayers. May God bring you the peace & comfort that only He can give. We love y’all, too. Tim, Debbie, Drew & Ali

Dear Dorothy, Jay, and Harrison, I was stunned with disbelief when I learned of Madolyn's passing. My heart sinks with an attempt to grasp the pain you must be experiencing. Madolyn was in my daughter's class in school, so she was a friend who shared both academic pursuits and extracurricular activities in the 6 years they shared. Madolyn was also a student in my AP Literature class, and she proved to be a dedicated student and valuable team member for all the group assignments. She was serious about preparing for her future, and I am so pleased to learn that she achieved her goal of working in the field of design. I still have several pieces of jewelry that she crafted. I am praying for your comfort, strength, and peace as you continue to cope with this tragic unexpected loss. Love across the miles!

Dear Essary Family, I am so saddened to hear the news of Madolyn’s passing. I taught her for a few years at SCS and will always remember her sweet and positive disposition... and her love for milk. 💕 She always had a smile on her face and worked hard in everything she did. My prayers are with your family during these unthinkable and difficult times.

I just wanted to give my condolences to the Essary family. I know there is nothing I can say that will ease the pain of this loss. I never got to know Madolyn well, but I was in Harrison's class at SCS. I know she will be greatly missed as a daughter, a sister, a friend, and so much more. Know that I am praying for y'all and will support y'all however I can. Even though it won't be soon enough, y'all will reunite with her again one day.

Madolyn has such a special place in my heart. We went to school together at SCS, and she was my only friend that shared the same passion I had for art and design. We spent so many weekends making jewelry and crafting at each others' homes. We went to design camp together in Georgia, travelled to London together, and encouraged each other as we were figuring out college and career paths. I admired how hard she worked and I loved her sweet laugh. I'm so grateful for all our memories together in school and that we even went to NC State College of Textiles together. I'm so sorry for your loss and want you to know I am keeping your family in my prayers. She is deeply missed.
