Joseph J. Botelho 85, of East Providence passed away Sunday October 11, 2015 at home. He was the husband of the late Dolores L. (Braga) Botelho. Born in Newport, he was the son of the late Louis and Irene (Paiva) Botelho. Joseph was an Army and Navy Veteran, he worked as a shipper/ receiver for Okonite Company, and a maintenance person at Phillipsdale Landing. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking cruises, golf, fishing, clam boils and reading on his deck. He is survived by one daughter Linda M. Slade and her husband Frederick of Warren, one son Kevin J. Botelho of East Providence, and three grandchildren Justin, Derek, and Kevin Shawn. He was the brother of the late Louie, Everett, Eddie, Anthony, James, and Frankie Botelho, Virginia Medeiros, Irene Smith, Beatrice DaPonte, Ethel Matthews. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Martha’s Church Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
