Joseph E. Pinheiro
Joseph E. Pinheiro, 73, of Pawtucket and Deland, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Jo Ann P. (Carvalho) Pinheiro.
Born in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Acores he was a son of the late Jose F. and Sarah (Brilhante) Pinheiro. Mr. Pinheiro was a machine operator for Carol Cable/General Cable for 38 years before he retired 11 years ago. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also had several memberships including the Woodland Circle Association in Deland, Florida, the Rhode Island Motorcycle Association and the United Steel Workers, Local 4543. Mr. Pinheiro enjoyed playing billiards, the outdoors, his rottweilers and he loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Besides his wife he leaves one son, Ronald D. Pinheiro, two stepchildren, Richard Daigle and Robert Daigle, one granddaughter, Kimberly Pinheiro, two sisters, Armanda Pinheiro and Sara Pinheiro and one brother, John Pinheiro. He was a very special uncle to several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the father of the late Kelly Ann Pinheiro and Joseph E. Pinheiro, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. Due to current health department restrictions calling hours are omitted.
