Joseph Vincente, 79, of Seekonk, MA passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Hope Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Estrela (Grilo) Vincente. Born in Ribeirinha, São Miguel, Açores. He was a son of the late Jacinto and Cristina (Alves) Vincente.
Joseph was a cabinet maker and a skilled craftsman who took great pride in his work. He worked for several companies before he retired from Modern Industries. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Brotherhood of East Providence. Joseph spent a lot of time caring for his garden. His fig trees were his pride & joy. He enjoyed caring for his animals and he loved making and sharing his homemade wine. Joseph was a hardworking man, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by all.
Besides his wife he leaves behind six children, Elsa Andrews and her husband Dana of Seekonk, Roy Vicente and his wife Laurie of Cumberland, Ilidio Vincente and his wife Ann of Seekonk, Jesse Vicente and his wife Silvia of Seekonk, Anna Kenny of Savannah, GA, Nina Ferreira and her husband Danny of Seekonk, He was the proud grandfather of sixteen grandchildren; Daniel, Tyler and Bryan Andrews, Nicholas and Christopher Vicente, Ryan, Jayden and Olivia Vincente, Ashley and Jared Vincente, Branden, Joseph and Roman Kenny, Eva, Bryce and Lincoln Ferreira, one great grandson Ace White. He was the brother of Jacinto Vincente of Rehoboth, MA.
His funeral will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5-8PM.
