Jose V. Silveira, 90 passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Waterview Villa. He was the devoted husband of Maria D. (Santos) Silveira to whom he was married 70 years. Born in Manadas, St. Jorge, Azores he was a son of the late Manuel V. and Emilia (Faustina) daSilveira. Mr. Silveira was a machine operator for Narragansett Coated Paper before he retired. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. Besides his wife he leaves seven daughters, Ondina Ferreira of Seekonk, Juvenalia Sousa of Seekonk, Olga Gois of Florida, Maria Santos of Pawtucket, Emilia Gago of Rehoboth, Delores Cabral of Florida and Rosa Silva of Seekonk, two sons, Joseph Silveira of Florida and Roy Silveira of East Providence, one sister, Adelaide Ventura of California, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Eric Silveira, great grandfather of the late Angel Silveira and was predeceased by seven siblings. His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue.
