John V. Kane 88, of Rehoboth, died January 25, 2013.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie E. (Gray) Kane to whom he was married for 53 years until her death in 2001 and the late June (Pusateri) Kane.
Born in Worcester Massachusettes he was a son of the late John V. and Nellie I. (Parker) Kane.
Mr. Kane was a Sales Consultant for General Electric for 35 years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He was a past president of the Seekonk Lions Club and was an active member of the Newman YMCA. He was an avid wood worker and will always be remembered for his love of working in the yard and wearing his favorite sheriffs cap.
He leaves one daughter; Jean E. Howard of Attleboro, four grandchildren; Meghan Clough and her husband Donald, Dr. Elizabeth Kane, John V. Kane IV and James Kane, one great grandchild; Adam T. Clough, daughter in-law; Pamela Kane and his devoted friend; Jackie Auclair. He was the father of the late John V. Kane III and brother of the late James Kane, Claire Gagnon and Shirley Gaudette.
His funeral and visitation will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a services to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rehoboth Village Cemetery.
