John Lima, Jr., 85 of Matunuck School House Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Westerly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret H. (Silva) Lima. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Deolinda (Costa) Lima. John was an expert upholsterer for Bassett’s Jaguar for the last thirty seven years. He was a faithful communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was also a member of the choir and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He also did volunteer work at South County Hospital. He leaves one daughter, Stephanie Roberts and her husband Raymond, with whom he made his home, one son, John J.G. Lima and his wife Elizabeth MacLean of Wakefield, one grandson, Travis D. Roberts and his wife Erica Cataldi Roberts of Wakefield and two brothers, Arthur Lema and Edwin Lema. He was the brother of the late Mary Lema, Gloria Howe and George Lema. His funeral will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 High Street, Wakefield, RI. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4-8.
