Jean G. Gartner, 87, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Brookdale East Bay. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Gartner. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Muirhead) Williamson. Mrs. Gartner worked for many years at Brown, Lyle & Marshall and also as a secretary for the James Reilly Insurance Company before she retired. She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Riverside and was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed playing Dominos, going to the beach and most importantly, spending time with her family. She leaves two daughters, K. Gretchen Furtado of Riverside and Gail J. Lefoley and her husband Michael of Middleboro, Ma. and two grandchildren, Steven Furtado and Kyran Lefoley. She was the sister of the late Marion Thompson and Margaret Zeiner. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Monday 4-7. In lieu of flowers contributions to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI would be appreciated.
