Jane F. Barker, 91 of Taunton Avenue, died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home.Born in Greenfield, Ma. she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Eleanor (Mead) Barker. Jane was a secretary to the editor at the Providence Journal before she retired. She also worked for Providence Gravure and Colony Communications, both subsidiaries of the Providence Journal. Previously she was a secretary at Gorham Silver. Jane was a graduate of Catherine Gibbs, a past treasurer of Friends of Seekonk Library and a member of Women in Cable. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Women’s Guild. She leaves two brothers, Jack M. Barker of Washington and Fred Barker of Colorado, six nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk.
