Hercilio F. DaSilva, 91, of East Providence and formerly of Palm Harbor, Fl, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was a husband of Escolastica (Oliveira) DaSilva. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Caesar and Albertina (Faria) DaSilva.
Hercilio worked as a chief pump man for Exxon Mobil before he retired. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, gardening and photography. Hercilio was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He especially loved to spend time with his family at their summer home at Rocky Point. Besides his wife, he leaves five children, Vincent DaSilva, Kenneth DaSilva and his wife Anne Marie, Fatima Cahir and her husband Robert, Bernadina Pacheco and her husband Barry and Ronald DaSilva and his wife Anne Marie, three sisters, Zilma Rose, Dina Vieira, Leonilde DeFaria and one brother Caesar DaSilva, seven grandchildren, Erin Aronson, Brandon Brown, Jenna Belanger, Briana Pacheco, Isabella DaSilva, Adam Cahir, Chelsea DaSilva and two great-granddaughters.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8.
