Harry C. Huguley

Harry C. Huguley, 71, of Albany, New York passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the husband of Juana Catala-Huguley.  Born in Birmingham, Alabama he was a son of the late Henderson and Amanda (Price) Huguley.   Mr. Huguley was a Mental Health Administrator for the New York State Department of Mental Health Forensic Services.  He previously was the administrator for the Institute of Mental Health in Rhode Island. He received a Master’s Degree from  Brown University and also from the Mid-Hudson Bible Institute.  In 1987 he moved to New York and became a Deacon at the Macedonia Baptist Church where he was also a member of the Men’s Ministry, the Choir and a Sunday school teacher.  He coached for the South Providence Washington Park Little League and also served as a celebrity chef with the Links Organization. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.  Besides his wife he leaves four children, Larry Williams (Christine) of Albany, Luis Williams (Temika) of Albany, Dr. James Huguley (Alison) of Pittsburgh and Amanda Huguley-Williams (Byron) of Jersey City, two sisters, Gwendolyn Lewis (Sherwood) of CT. and Carolyn Martin of Alabama and seven grandchildren. He was the father of the late Sonia Huguley-Huddleston and brother of the late Philip, Henderson, Robert, Sidney and Horace Huguley and twin siblings. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Macedonia Baptist Church, 26 Wilson Avenue, Albany, New York.  His funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Congdon Street Baptist Church, 17 Congdon Street, Providence, Rhode Island. Calling hours will be held in the church from 11-12 PM on Saturday morning. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
