Harold G. Gobern 67, of Whitmarsh Street, Providence passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Gale A. (Nelson) Gobern. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alexis and Mary (Banks) Gobern. Harold worked as a Master Electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 99 for many years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Providence Assembly of God Church. Besides his wife he leaves six daughters, Rochelle Almeida of Providence, Noni-Ayanna Roch of Cranston, Naomi-Simone Burrell of Providence, Annette Nash of Providence, Valerie Breedy of Cranston, and Gale Gaines of Pawtucket, one son, John Nash of North Providence, twenty three grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Frederick “Freddy” Gobern and Richard B. Gobern, Sr., and three sisters, Mary Santos, Beverly Richardson, and Julia Jones. He was the brother of the late Pearl Cousin, Alexio, Irving, Alexis, David, and Abraham Gobern. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
