Geraldine L. “Gerry” Bettencourt, 65, passed away Monday August 29, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Norma G. (Costa) Pereira. Mrs. Bettencourt worked for MetLife in the Reconciliation Department before retiring in 2010. During her retirement she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was also an avid Nascar fan. She leaves one daughter, Lynn A. Dellagrotta and her husband Chris of Attleboro, one son, Alfred Bettencourt and his wife Arjana of Connecticut, two grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Dellagrotta, two brothers, David M. and Christopher M. Pereira, three nieces, Kate Walker, Emily Yezerski, Julie Pereira and one nephew, John Pereira. Her funeral and visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 would be appreciated.
