George T. Barros, Sr. 76, of Woodbine Street, Providence passed away Thursday October 29, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Elaine B. (Silva) Barros. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Mathias and Elvira (Lopes) Barros. Mr. Barros was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a sexton for the First Unitarian Church in Providence. He leaves one daughter, Kristen Henderson and her husband Curtis, one son, George T. Barros, Jr., three grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan and Matthew Henderson, three sisters, Isabel Austin, Laura Prout and Dominga Araujo, four brothers, Victor, Boaventuro, Joaquim and John Barros and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel and Matthew Barros and Mary Hargrave. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8.
