Freeman E. Treacy 74, of Valley Street died Thursday July 11, 2013 at Miriam Hospital.He was the husband of Nola R. (Ware) Treacy. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late S. Freeman and Myrtle (Barsalow) Treacy.Mr. Treacy had served twenty two years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer.He was a supply and logistics coordinator for Vitro Services Incorporated before retiring. He had attended Bryant College. He was the commissioner of the Seekonk Water Board and a member of the Seekonk Planning Board for eleven years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and served many years as an usher. He was a Past Grand Knight and lifelong member of the Seekonk Council, Knights of Columbus.Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Doreen Treacy and Sharon Lefebvre and her husband Michael, one son, Todd Treacy and his wife Denise, one sister, Beverly Treacy-Mills, one brother, Richard Treacy and seven grandchildren.His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk.
