Ethel L. Korkuc, R.N. 94 of Seekonk died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Kent County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence J. Korkuc to whom she was married 69 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Ethel L. (Fay) Riley. She was always very proud of her Irish heritage and traditions. Mrs. Korkuc was a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Obstetrics Department. She was a graduate of Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. In her nursing capacity, she was the go to person for all of the neighborhood children’s first aid needs. She leaves three sons, Raymond Korkuc and his wife Theresa of Seekonk, Brian Korkuc and his wife Carol of Warwick, and James Korkuc and his wife Winifred of West Warwick, four grandchildren, Bethany Handfield and her husband Brendan, Andrew Korkuc and his wife Britta, Joseph Korkuc and Tracy Wallin and her husband Neil and four great grandchildren, Reid and Ainsley Handfield, Levi Korkuc and Lillian Wallin. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Calling hours Saturday morning 9:30-10:30. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
