Emidio A. Carusi, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Judith A. (LaRocca) Carusi.
Born in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Luigi and Mary (Zinni) Carusi. Mr. Carusi was a Logistics Engineer for GTE before he retired. He served proudly in the Rhode Island Air National Guard, 143rd Tactical Airlift Group for 21 years. He was a 1953 graduate of Barrington High School and a 1976 graduate of Roger Williams College. He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church where he served for many years as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and a CCD Teacher. Mr. Carusi was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Hickey Council #3623 and was also a member of the St. Luke’s Golf Club. Above all else, his family came first. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was always his biggest source of enjoyment. He was always there for them and he will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Edward P. Carusi of Bristol, RI, Thomas P. Carusi and his wife Rebecca of New Bedford, MA and Christopher M. Carusi and his wife Pauline of Independence, Virginia, six grandchildren, Mark, Glenn, Nathan, Andrew, Benjamin and Matthew, two great grandchildren, LeAnn and Abigail, a brother, Luigi Carusi and a sister, Irene Salvo.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Avenue, Barrington, RI. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8. In lieu of flowers contributions to Holy Angels Church would be appreciated.
